Bedding affects your sleep and love life, so choose carefully

Anyone who thinks that it makes absolutely no difference what kind of bed linen cover you put on your duvet and pillows is very wrong. Our subconscious processes influence far more of our functions than we might suspect.

It is also not correct to say that we only go to the bedroom to sleep, because we spend a third of our day there and the mood we fall asleep in affects our quality of sleep, which in turn determines our whole day. When we feel good, we feel perfectly relaxed, and the colours and patterns in the room contribute greatly to our wellbeing, so an aesthetic bed linen cover can bring us good dreams.

Many people swear by pastel colours, which exude clarity and calm. These include peach, pistachio, beige, pale purple and pink. Pink tends to enhance romance, while red enhances eroticism.

For those who have difficulty sleeping, bright colours and strong patterns are not recommended. Shades of blue are more appropriate. Blue bed linen invites you to sleep as it symbolises the colours of the night.

But remember that not only your mood but also your sexual energy is affected by the style of your bed linen. Red, bright yellow and orange are the best colours for this. They awaken your dormant sexual energy, which can only benefit you. It’s true that they’re not the best for relaxation, but it’s important to make a conscious choice about what you want to emphasise and what you want support for in your bedroom.

Bed linen covers contribute to the harmony of the room, so choose wisely. It’s easy to want to create more than one effect, as bedrooms are multifunctional. Fortunately, bedding is interchangeable, so you have the option of choosing more than one.
